I met John on a tree planting day in the Duddon Valley, a remote, quiet and idyllic area of the Lake District.
He is a busy man. Project officer for the Harknott Restoration Project, which is organised by the University of Leeds. He runs volunteer weeks at the internationally renowned Trees For Life in Scotland and works as a forest school teacher.
An Anarchist at heart, he has impressively ambitious plans for reforesting the Lake District.
